Leila's Busy Saturday

Leila has had a busy Saturday in Stevens Point. After a nice walk downtown to meet Grandpa George & Grandma Bibi for breakfast, we went to a parade to celebrate Stevens Point's 150th Birthday! Leila got herself a crown and even charmed the guy into giving her an extra one for her cousin Lily.

She liked watching the fire trucks go by, but she was lulled to sleep in Grandma's arms to the banging of drums and clashing of cymbals from the marching band.

After we got home from the parade, Uncle Ian tried to convince her that John McCain is the only hope for our country and introduced her to his Colorado Fat Tire beer. Good thing she spit up all over him forcing him to hand her over to her more responsible Grandparents!

We are getting ready for a walk to breakfast and a parade. Leila decided to wear her cute overalls today!

Meeting Uncle Ian

Leila met uncle Ian today. She stared at him like this for 20 straight minutes. Does this mean she will agree with his crazy politics? Don't listen to him Leila!

I just wanted to show off my awesome new booties, sweater my great grandma made, and my stylish pants. My grandparents cant get enough of me.

Shopping trip!

Leila went shopping today with her Aunt Andi, cousin Lily, and both Grandmas. This is BEFORE we hit the stores....


And this is AFTER Leila learned how to swipe her Grandpa's credit card. What a smart girl!!

Walking with Grandma

Leila and I had an easy trip back to Wisconsin yesterday. This morning I got to go for a run while Leila walked with Grandma.

This is Leila yesterday morning, playing away on her chair. As you can see from the pictures below, she preferred to not have her smile photographed. I caught a blurry glimpse of it in the corner of the third picture however.

Chris was relaxing on the floor, when all of a sudden Leila jumped off the changing table and attacked him. He defended himself valiantly until Taji came to join the fun, and Chris was declared the loser of the battle. I know it looks like he's just protecting Leila from the dog, but it actually happened the way I said it did.

How does she do it? We have no idea. At this rate, she will be climbing out of her crib in no time.

Leila's new car

We finally got rid of our lemon of a car and bought a brand new Honda Fit. We were thrilled to wave goodbye to the old one. Now there is just enough room for the three of us plus Taji.

Babysitters

Aunt Sara and Uncle Chris babysat for Leila while Mom & Dad shopped for a new car. Apparently it went well...except for the copious amounts of spit-up Leila is an expert at producing. Oh, and Leila says, "Sorry about your chair." Apparently she went through quite a few outfits (and so did Chris & Sara). Moggy the cat tried his best to sneak a ride in the stroller by hopping in the bottom but he was busted at the last minute.

Leila got together with her friends Rion (left) and Ava (right) for some quality car seat time. She thinks Rion is upset because she doesn't have a cool toy hanging from her ride. Leila's toy is a dragon that says "BLAAAAAAH" when you press it's belly. Very hip!

Is it summer yet?

Leila models her very first swimsuit. She can't wait to go swimming!!

After an early morning run, Taji and Erica came home to find the rest of the family napping on the couch. Aww!

A Day at Great Falls

A beautiful day in Washington, so the whole gang went to Great Falls National Park for a hike and a nap.
