Sculpture Garden
We went to the Sculpture Garden last night to hear the jazz concert and see our friends Pete, Regina & Samuel. Samuel tried to teach Leila that it is fun to run and play, but she was only interested in wiggling and smiling. Maybe next week she'll be up for it??

Smiling for the camera
We caught Leila on camera giving us some smiles. She usually waits until after we put the camera away to be at her cutest. Here she is looking suspicious.
Now she's about to break into her full-out grin.
Here's a cute little face that you'd be crazy not to love!
This is Daddy's favorite of the bunch.

An afternoon at the dog park
We took Taji to the dog park today to meet the LeBaillys and Vasco. The dogs loved playing in the puppy-sized pool, complete with waterfalls which they were afraid to go near. Leila just enjoyed the view and the sunshine.

Happy 100 days!
Today was Leila's 100th birthday (if you are counting the days!) So, to celebrate Erica baked cupcakes.
Leila and dad at baseball game
Leila and I went to see the Nationals play today. It was blazing hot and I was afraid she would melt so we didn't stay long.

Leila's Saturday fun
Leila slept until 9am, making Mommy & Daddy very happy! After such a restful night, we headed down to the Mall for a run and some chilling by the Washington Monument.

Taji is tired after her morning exercise.

Back at home, Leila models her awesome new sunglasses with velcro straps.
The whole fam poses for a picture in front of the house.
Later, we all went out for margaritas and Mexican food with friends. After a screaming bout, diaper change, and bottle, Leila zonked out in time for our food to arrive and let us enjoy some grown up conversation! Yea for fun Saturdays!

Free concert
XM Radio had a free concert on the mall for kids. The concert included Lisa Loeb and Meredith Brooks doing songs off of their new kids cds apparently. I think we might be getting a bit old when Meredith Brooks starts doing kids songs. Regardless, my favorite was "What's in your peanut-butter sandwich" by The Jimmies. Guess what i can do?
Roll over! I rolled over from my tummy to my back today all by myself. I am not sure i can do it again but it sure was fun! I want mom and dad to get a video of me trying so you can all watch me!
Surprise!!!
Jason wanted to give Leila & Mom a welcome home surprise so he, with the help of Chris & Sara, put down sod in the yard. WOW!! Now if only we can keep it alive... Here are some pictures to document the transformation.

BEFORE. Our yard was mostly dirt with many patches of weeds.
Taji was curiously skeptical of her newest blanket...
...but she got over it and enjoyed her new lounging space.
The finishing touches!
Ta-Da!! What a difference. Thanks Jason, Sara & Chris. You guys are the best!!!

Leila & Lily's Photoshoot
The cousins had a photoshoot yesterday to show off their new outfits. They were surprisingly patient with the paparazzi!
The 4th of July Princesses showing off stylish bibs and tiaras...

Two adorable little firecrackers ready to celebrate. We wanted to have them holding sparklers but common sense prevailed and we stuck with the onesies...

In this more versatile patriotic style, Leila models a patchwork tank and cotton skirt while Lily shows off her patchwork dress...

Leila and Lily bought Grandma a new chair for her backyard. They were so excited to try it out...
They decided that the chair is much more comfortable when they are sitting on Grandma's lap. This is only the first of many backyard adventures...

Outing to Rusty's
We took Leila to Rusty's Backwater Saloon today to have one of their world famous bloody mary's. Mom loves them! Leila slept through the whole experience.
Reading with Grandma
Leila spent some time reading books with her Grandma this morning. She was full of wiggles, smiles and babbles!
