Leila has started rolling over on her changing table and looking at the floor around her. I think she's looking for her toys.

"Oh, and there's my daddy!"

Erica has been teaching Leila how to give kisses. It's been going okay, but a little messy.

Enjoying jazz with friends

It was a beautiful summer night so we walked to the sculpture garden with our neighbor, Chirine. She and Leila are hanging out, having dinner...and Leila was even trying to hold her own bottle!!

After taking her jogging stroller out for a spin this morning Leila spent some tummy time enjoying the cool breeze and watching airplanes overhead.

So, we got Leila laughing this afternoon, and it was absolutely fantastic to listen to. We still laugh whenever we watch the video...But, then again we are related to her.

Daddy thought it would be a good idea to let Leila lie in a pile with all of her stuffed animals. I think she was a bit overwhelmed.

She let us know it was ridiculous to make her try on her cute winter hat in the middle of summer.

Leila got a styling hip and trendy new shirt today. It's clear she makes it work.

Hike in Shenandoah

We took a day trip to the Shenandoah Mountains yesterday to go for a little hike. We walked in to this nice swimming hole and had lunch. Crazy Daddy swam, Taji accidentally fell in, and Mommy and Leila were only brave enough to dip their feet in the cold water.

Leila was tired enough to nap in the Baby Bjorn for the walk back to the car. Unfortunately she was awake enough to scream most of the way home.

Toy overload!

So, Leila was being a bit finicky today, and we decided she needed to play with several of her toys at once. She liked this idea fine for awhile (especially the piano and the mirror, which are both favorites of hers). However, after a while she grew overwhelmed and decided the best action was to take her little blue blanket and pull it over her face. When we tried to pull it off her, she grabbed it back and tried to keep it there.

Okay, so Leila will probably be mad later in life for us putting these pictures in, but she was just too cute.

4 months old!

Sorry to be a few days late, but Leila has kept us busy and we haven't been updating the blog enough for her fan club. Leila went to the doctor last Friday for her 4-month check up. She weighed in at 12lbs, 12 ozs and is 26 inches long! She's in the 95th percentile for her height and the 10-25th percentile for her weight. She had 4 shots, which she didn't like at all, but seemed to tolerate well enough. The doctor was impressed by how social and talkative she was. No surprise there :).
