Pocahontas in Jamestown

Colonial Williamsburg

Leila was studying colonial America, so we took advantage of being back in DC to show the kids the history in person.  So we took them Colonial Williamsburg (where they recreate 1760s Virginia) and then to the Jamestown Settlement National Park.

At a museum of colonial furniture and art, the kids and us got to draw family crests.

Annual Visit to See Santa Claus

Santa came to the Lake Barcraft beach this holiday. The girls brought their lists, Athena wants an LOL Doll and Leila wanted a Perplexus.

Leila and Athena’s Holiday Concert

Leila and Athena had their holiday violin concert at the Mormon Temple community center last weekend.  They did amazingly well, and it looks like they had a great time.

Snowy singalong

Athena's school had a snowy singalong (Christmas concert). They sang holiday songs in English, Spanish, Arabic, and sign language.

We stopped by the zoo to see their holiday light display. It was amazing but the kids were disappointed not to see animals. We just can't win sometimes!

Our neighborhood fox came for a visit.

There was as much eating as there was decorating.

We decorated gingerbread cookies over the weekend. Athena's friend Sarah came too. It was her first time decorating gingerbread cookies and she loved it!
